The role
This is a permanent full-time Accounting Analyst role based in our Christchurch office. You will report to the Manager - Financial Insights
Within this role you will be able to have significant impact in:
Producing impartial financial statistics which are used to shape policy and support packages for businesses in these challenging times.
Positively changing our measurement of business finances to better reflect the rapidly changing NZ economy.
Finding ways to reduce the burden on the businesses we measure, by using administrative data, modelling, and changing our survey design.
Shaping our response to accounting standard changes.
Improving our toolset for data collection, analysis, and release.
Starting salary: $76,571 - $84,679 negotiable, depending on the successful applicants skills and experience.

Accounting degree (ideally a chartered accountancy qualification) and relevant experience.
Experience using SAS and R packages to an intermediate or advanced level.
An analytical mindset, curious about the world around you, and a drive to see it accurately reflected in our statistics.
A flair for data presentation and plain english communication.
A passion for learning and teaching.
Knowledge/familiarity or a commitment to learning/understanding Te Ao Māori, in order to understand and contribute meaningful work and outcomes for Māori communities.
