Due to an internal promotion, we are now looking for an Accounts Payable and Receivable superstar to join our Finance team, located at Auckland Headquarters in Parnell. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role involves the management of both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Finance functions, including bank processing across multiple businesses.

About the role and responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

    Administration of accounts payable funding including invoice processing through to payment, including employee expenses and credit cards, processed correctly and on a timely basis
    Responsible for the integrity and maintenance of the vendor master data including statement reconciliations and communicating with suppliers to resolve outstanding issues
    To process all bank transactions into SAP, including the reconciliation of daily banking
    Accounts Receivable
    Maintain oversight over agent contracts, incentives and ensuring adherence to the organisation's credit policy and maintain the integrity of customer/agent master data
    Provide accurate weekly and monthly reporting of debtor aging to the Financial Controller
    Monthly invoicing and statements to agents
    Daily reconciliations and following up of outstanding overdue invoices
    Communication and effective resolution of issues and booking discrepancies

To get through the doors, you'll need:

    5 years + of experience in all aspects of accounts receivable and accounts payable processing with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles

    Accuracy and high attention to detail is essential

    Excellent communications skills, both written and oral

    A proactive approach to identify problems before they become urgent

    Push boundaries to think outside the box and bring a new perspective

What will I be doing?

    Weekly payroll processing in the payroll system: working with Human Resources and Finance departments to process weekly payroll timely and accurately and in accordance with NZ labour laws and Holiday Act laws.

Additionally you may be responsible for any or all of the below tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager/Finance Director:

    Respond to guest inquiries, charge inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
    Research and resolve guest billing disputes in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
    Process Supplier invoices and payments
    Audit revenue records
    Prepare and complete all month-end responsibilities, including but not limited to, preparing reports and setting up late bills
    Prepare and post daily receivables from event contracts and balance totals to the General Ledger
    Coordinate and verify receiving tickets, purchase orders and invoices for proper coding and approval signature
    Prepare journal entries

About the opportunity

You'll join our Payments Service team - the team that provides expertise and support to our five business verticals.      Attend and participate in team meetings and events

Qualifications

What would make me a good candidate?

    Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Finance, Billing, or Accounts Receivable role within corporate or commercial banking
    Able to prioritise and manage workload effectively and to specified deadlines
    Experience in high processing volume environments
    Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook

    Where relevant ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately, with any reconciling items cleared in a timely manner and full explanations given for any items outstanding
    Ensure all service level agreements are complied with and commitments met or exceeded
    Assist in the review of work performed by the Strategic Partner including any escalated queries and tasks
    Assist with Accounts Payable

What we are looking for:

    General accounting knowledge, obtained from corporate industry or similar
    Computer skills to a competent level – Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook
    Knowledge of accounting, audit, Excel and general ledger accounting systems
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    High standard of accuracy (an eye for detail)
    An accounting qualification would be beneficial
