About you

As an experienced finance professional, you will thrive in the environment by:

• Providing input and participating in the development and implementation of accounts payable

processes and systems across the business.

• Developing, deploying, and implementing performance and reporting measures across accounts

payable to effectively track business performance in line with key indicators.

• Providing training to key stakeholders (end users) of the accounts payable process to build and

grow operational capacity including documenting key processes where required.

• Actively participate in the Finance team ensuring key deliverables are achieved in line with

strategic outcomes.

• Assisting with other minor finance-related processing tasks as required.

Our ideal candidate:

• Has 1-2 years of experience in an accounts payable / receivable role or aligned experience.

• Has experience with accounting software (eg MYOB, Xero etc).

• Has excellent attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset.

• Is a great team player and ability to demonstrate initiative.

About the role


The Manager, Financial Accounting role manages the financial accounting functions and processes of the Office of Sport.


Reporting to the Director, you will lead and direct the financial accounting team in managing systems and processes for the preparation of the financial statements. You will manage and coordinate the production of financial statements and early close accounts for the Office of Sport and liaise with the NSW Audit Office of NSW on audits of financial statements and resolve any associated issues.


About you


To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:


Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or related field, and a member / eligible for membership of an Australian professional accounting body (e.g. CPA or CA).

Demonstrated experience in managing the financial accounting processes required for month / year end close and the reconciliation processes.

Ability to provide expert professional advice on the interpretation and application of existing and new accounting standards and Treasury policies and directions.

How Will I Help?


As the Accounting officer, you will be working within the Financial Crime and Fraud Prevention team. You will be working at our Parramatta office. The role will report to the Merchant Fraud and Chargeback Manager. Some of the responsibilities are:


Reconciliation of the account

Purchasing journals, debiting and crediting of the account

Creating account for the stakeholders as and when required

Action incoming value in all 4 suspense accounts and clear if possible.  Investigate outstanding entries. 

Write off and recoveries as required to clear entries in suspense – journals processed to clear bulk amount through oracle

Incoming and outgoing values from Visa and Mastercard processed through journals in oracle for both SGB and WBC

Spider access – open accounts for Merchant Risk for SGB
